Liv's 1st Birthday!

I am so, so sad, but it looks like I have lost all my pictures from Liv's first birthday! I recently got a new phone and I thought I had transferred all my pictures to DropBox, but apparently I hadn't. :( I took so many pictures of the cake I made for her and a video of her greatly enjoying that cake. So I guess you'll just have to use your imagination...

Since Liv is only one year old and probably won't remember this birthday, we didn't do anything elaborate. We had my family over for dinner and then celebrated by blowing out a big Number 1 candle and devouring ice cream.  I got the inspiration for my cake from Pinterest, and it looked like this deliciousness, just with different colors of icing. Unlike many of my other Pinterest endeavors, this one was actually successful and looked pretty much like the picture!  It took hours to make the layer cake and even more hours to decorate. But it was beautiful in the end. 

We stripped Liv down to just her diaper and let her dig in! She loved the cake and frosting and loved rubbing it everywhere. Oh the joy of birthdays! One day when dad doesn't freak out that Liv is getting dirty while she eats. :)
