I have noticed that I mostly write about myself on this blog. Selfish, selfish me. Especially when I have so many cool stories to tell about Christopher. So I’m going to take a little space here to brag about my hubby!
You know, college can be tough. It is even tougher when you’re married, working, and prepping for medical school; so many things tugging at your time. But Chris handles it very well. He got a 4.0 last semester and we’re hoping for another one this semester. It’s looking good so far as he just got a 96% on his Organic Chemistry test. Do I need to repeat that – Organic Chemistry! J I am a very proud wife. He was also awarded a scholarship from the College of Science for this next year and he just keeps applying for more! Money, does make the college experience a little easier…
Yesterday, Chris got the results from his second TB test. Clean. J He is signing up to volunteer in the ER at LDS Hospital. In order to become a volunteer you have to pass an interview, get a drug test, and also get tested for TB, twice. He’s finally at the end of this process and is going to start volunteering on Saturdays. A few weeks ago he went on a job shadow of an ER doctor and he loved it. He came back with some pretty funny/crazy stories, especially from the night shift (8:00pm – 2:00am). I’m sure he’ll have plenty more to tell after a few more Saturdays volunteering.
Chris is also working in a DNA lab on campus. He is working with a professor studying the DNA/RNA of brine flies. Now, I know that might not sound exciting to people like you and me, but apparently you can learn a lot from a fly. He and his professor are working towards presenting at a conference in Poland and Chris is hoping to get published in the next year or so.
And on top of that, working at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, and doing homework, he still makes time for me. J He makes sure that we have some sort of FHE activity every Monday and eats dinner with me every night. He loves spending time with family on Sundays. Oh, and he teaches Primary as well – the Valiant 8 class.
And every now and then, he takes time to just get down and boogie. Enjoy!!
Wow! Chris really knows how to shake it!
