When I grow up...

We all have people in our lives who we admire.  Ever heard about a firey red-head named Donna on a show called Suits?  She is my idol!  Okay, idol may be a little strong of a word, but I definitely think she is extremely cool!  Why so, you may ask?  Just check out a few of these awesome clips!

Donna is one woman who is confident, smart and beautiful.  She knows who she is and just what she can accomplish.  Now who doesn't want to be like that? I know that we can't all be that witty without a script, but we can earn the respect of those around us by doing an exceptional job at whatever it is we do.  So speak up, girls!  Let them know who's boss!  ;)

On the road again!

spring is here and summer has been taunting us with 75 degree weather followed by a nice, hearty rainstorm.  so chris and i have decided to escape it all and flee south.  that's right, we've planned an impromptu trip to moab!  here we come hiking, rafting, biking, camping and skydiving.  yes, i said skydiving.  i am going to try it!  I have always wanted to skydive my whole life, and i think now the time is right.  wish me luck!  and if you have any positive skydiving stories, i'd love to hear them.  no bad ones though.  i don't need anything more to be scared of.

monday chris and i decided to take a trip and on tuesday and i had everything planned out, including an hour by hour itinerary.  i'm excited to be traveling again and to get to know some of utah's beauties a little bit better.  if you want to come along we are going the last week in april.  sianara finals and hello sunshine!

From the Life of C.S. Hill...

I have noticed that I mostly write about myself on this blog.  Selfish, selfish me.  Especially when I have so many cool stories to tell about Christopher.  So I’m going to take a little space here to brag about my hubby!
You know, college can be tough.  It is even tougher when you’re married, working, and prepping for medical school; so many things tugging at your time.  But Chris handles it very well.  He got a 4.0 last semester and we’re hoping for another one this semester.  It’s looking good so far as he just got a 96% on his Organic Chemistry test.  Do I need to repeat that – Organic Chemistry! J  I am a very proud wife.  He was also awarded a scholarship from the College of Science for this next year and he just keeps applying for more!  Money, does make the college experience a little easier…
Yesterday, Chris got the results from his second TB test.  Clean. J  He is signing up to volunteer in the ER at LDS Hospital.  In order to become a volunteer you have to pass an interview, get a drug test, and also get tested for TB, twice.  He’s finally at the end of this process and is going to start volunteering on Saturdays.  A few weeks ago he went on a job shadow of an ER doctor and he loved it.  He came back with some pretty funny/crazy stories, especially from the night shift (8:00pm – 2:00am).  I’m sure he’ll have plenty more to tell after a few more Saturdays volunteering.
Chris is also working in a DNA lab on campus.  He is working with a professor studying the DNA/RNA of brine flies.  Now, I know that might not sound exciting to people like you and me, but apparently you can learn a lot from a fly.  He and his professor are working towards presenting at a conference in Poland and Chris is hoping to get published in the next year or so.
And on top of that, working at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, and doing homework, he still makes time for me.  J  He makes sure that we have some sort of FHE activity every Monday and eats dinner with me every night.  He loves spending time with family on Sundays.   Oh, and he teaches Primary as well – the Valiant 8 class.
And every now and then, he takes time to just get down and boogie.  Enjoy!!

Baby Crazy!!!

Yay for life moving constantly forward!  To begin with, no this is not my child.  But i would like to share with y'all a little bit about my baby crazy weekend.

First of all, my best friend Lindsey came on a long awaited visit to Utah!  She is living in Cleveland, Ohio while her husband studies law at Cleveland State.  She is pregnant with her first baby and I have only seen pictures of the growing baby belly.  Until now!  You can't really tell in the picture below, but she is seven months pregnant, due in July.  It was so fun to see her in person and feel the little guy kick.

Second of all (but really first of all because it actually happened first) my other best friend Stacy had her second baby - little Jared Monte Anderson.  I believe he is ten days old in this picture.  Lindsey and I were able to take a drive down to Provo to visit Stacy and Jared on Saturday.  He is such a little guy!  6 lbs 3 oz and just adorable. I just love his face in the second picture.  He is sooo tiny!!  Thanks, Stace, for letting me hold him forever.  If we didn't have to leave, I might never have let him go.  I did, however, let him go to let Stacy change his diaper.  I guess I am not quite ready for babies yet.  (Oh, and the whole umbilical cord stub still being attached thing totally weirded me out too!)

I am excited for these two lovey ladies.  Such fun changes in their lives.  I am excited for these changes in my own life, you know, somewhere far down the road.  :)

P.S. Don't get any ideas or give any smart aleck remarks!!  :)
